(a)=> X2 -12X -12X + 144 = 0

=> X(X-12) -12(X-12) = 0

=> (x-12) (x-12) = 0

=> X = 12

(b) => Y2 -13y -13y +169 = 0
=> Y(Y -13)-13(Y-13) = 0
=> (y-13) (Y-13) = 0
=> Y = 13
So Ans= 1 Y is greater than X.

2-Ans 4

(a) => 2X2 + 8X – 5X – 20 = 0
=> 2X(X+4) -5(X+4) = 0
=> (X+4) (2X-5) = 0
=> X = -4, 5/2

(b)=> 2Y2 + 11y + 8y + 44 = 0
=> Y(2Y+11) +4(2y+11) = 0
=> (Y+4) (2Y+11) = 0
=> Y = -4, -11/2
So Ans = 4 X is greater than or equal to Y.

3-Ans 3

(a)=> X2 = 1200 +244
=> X2 =√1444
=> X = ±38

(b)=> Y = 159-122 
=> Y = 37
Clearly, X>Y or Y>X so Ans is 3 relationship can’t be determined.

4-Ans 3

(a) => 144X2 = 25

=> X2 = 25/144

=> X = ±5/12

(b)=> 12Y = √49-√4

=> 12y = ±(7-2)

=> 12y = ±5

=> Y = ±5/12

Clearly, X>Y or Y>X so Ans is 3 relationship can’t be determined.

5-Ans 2

(a) => 14X +7x = 59+25
=> 21X = 84
=> X = 84/21
=> X = 4

(b)=> √y+222 = ±6 ±9

=> √y+222 = ±15

=> Y+222 = 225 (by squaring both sides)

=> Y = 3

Clearly, X>Y so Ans is 2 X is greater than Y.
