Solutions:
Solutions for Question (1 – 5):
Answer.1. 4;
Number of Girls in:
School C = 6000 x 26/100 – 900 = 600
School E = 6000 x 29/100 – 1200 = 540
Required Answer = 660 + 540 + 600 = 1800
Answer.2. 3;
Number of Girls in School B = 6000 x 9/100 – 400 = 140
Number of Students in Schhol E = 6000 x 29/100 = 1740
Hence, Required ratio = 900 : 140 : 1740 = 45 : 7 : 87
Answer.3. 5;
Required difference = 1200 – (6000 x 6)/ 100 = 1200 – 360 = 840
Answer.4. 2;
Number of students in School – B = 6000 x 9/100 = 540
= Number of girls in School E
Answer.5. 5;
Number of Girls in School A = 6000 x 12/100 – 500 = 220
Hence, Required percentage = 220/540 x 100 ~ 41%
Solutions for Question (6 – 10):
Answer.6. 1;
Number of male candidates who qualified from state P in 2009 = 85000 60 /100 = 51000
Hence, Required sum = 51000 + 40000 = 91000
Answer.7. 3;
Required ratio = 55 : 35 = 11 : 7.
Answer.8. 5;
Number of candidates who qualified in 2004 and 2005 together from state Q = (40 + 45) thousands = 85000
Total number of candidates who qualified from all the states in 2007 = (45 + 30 + 40) thousands = 115,000
Required percentage = 85/115 x 100 = 74
Answer.9. 3;
Number of qualified candidates from state P over the
years = (35 + 20 + 25 + 45 + 40 + 85) thousand
= 250 thousand
Total number of qualified candidates in 2006
= (25 + 55 + 60) thousand = 140 thousand
Difference = (250 – 140) thousand = 110 thousand
= 1.10 lacs.
Answer.10. 1;
Percentage decrease = 55 – 30/55 x 100 = 45%
