Reasoning Quiz

Directions (1-5): Study the given information and answer the questions:
When a word and number arrangement machine is given an input line of words and numbers, it arranges them following a particular rule. The following is an illustration of input and its rearrangement.
Input:  changes 81 gone 63 through 83 your 39 reply 28
Step I: 39 changes 81 gone 63 through 83 your 28 reply
Step II: 83 39 81 gone 63 through your 28 reply changes
Step III: 63 83 39 81 gone through 28 reply changes your
Step IV: 28 63 83 39 81 gone reply changes your through
Step V: 81 28 63 83 39 reply changes your through gone

Step V is the last step of the above arrangement as the intended arrangement is obtained.
As per the rules followed in the given steps find out the appropriate steps for the given input.
Input: kept 51 you 62 informed 36 all 91 decisions 72

Q1. In which step the elements ‘all 91 you’ found in the same order?
(a)Step I
(b) Step IV
(c)Step V
(d) Step II
(e) None of these

Q2. What is the position of ‘51’ from the left end in the fourth step?
(a) Fifth
(b) Fourth
(c) Sixth
(d) Seventh
(e) Third

Q3.In step III, ‘51’ is related to ‘all’ and ‘91’ is related to ‘kept’. In the same way ‘62’ is related to?
(a) 36
(b) informed
(c) 51
(d) all
(e) There is no such step

Q4. Which element is exactly between ‘72’ and ‘you’ in last step of the given arrangement?
(a) 91
(b) all
(c) kept
(d) 36
(e) None of these

Q5.Which of the following is the second step of the arrangement based on the given input?
(a) 72 36 51 62 informed all 91 decisions you kept
(b) 72 36 51 62 informed 91 all  decisions you kept
(c) 72 36 51 62 informed all 91 you kept decisions
(d) 72 36 51 62 informed all 91 decisions kept you
(e) None of these

Directions (6-8): Question consists of five statements followed by five conclusions. Consider the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions does not logically follow from the given statements using all statements together.

Q6. Statements: Some exam are result. All result are success. No success is future. All future is green. Some future are bright.
Conclusions:
(a) Some exam is not future.
(b) Some success is not future.
(c) All exam being success is a possibility.
(d) Some bright is not success.
(e)All bright being success is a possibility.

Q7. Statements: Some star are sky. All sky are air. No sky is blue. Some blue is charm. All charm is beauty.
Conclusions:
(a) Some star is not blue.
(b) All star being air is possibility.
(c) All star being blue is possibility.
(d) Some charm is not sky.
(e) Some air is not blue.

Q8. Statements: All pen are tool. No tool is device. All device are copy. Some copy are book. All book are paper.
Conclusions:
(a) Some tool is not device.
(b) Some tool is not copy.
(c) Some paper is copy.
(d) All paper being device is a possibility.
(e) All tool being copy is possibility.

Directions (9-10): In the questions below are given two conclusions followed by five set of statements. You have to choose the correct set of statements that logically satisfies given conclusions either definitely or possibly. Assume the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts.

Q9. Conclusions: Some Q is P. Some P is not S.
Statements:
(a) Some P is T. All T is Q. No Q is R. All R is S.
(b) Some P is S. All S is Q. No Q is R. Some R is T.
(c) Some P is T. All T is R. No R is Q. All Q is S.
(d) Some P is Q. All Q are R. No R is S. Some S is T.
(e) None of these.

Q10. Conclusions: Some E is C. Some C is A.
Statements:
(a) Some A is D. All D is B. Some B is C. All C is E.
(b) All A is B. Some A is C. All C is D. Some D is E.
(c) Some A is B. All B is C. Some C is D. All D is E.
(d) Some A is C. All C is D. Some D is B. All B is E.
(e) None of these.

Answers:

Solution(1-5):
Students let us understand the Logic behind this Question and let’s understand how to solve it. When we see each step, then we can find that both numbers and words are arranged in each step.
a) For words arrangement- We have to see the last letter of each word. Like in given input series last letter of words are.T, U, D, L, and S. Then the letter which is greatest among all of the last letters of words arearranged to extreme right in each step. And this process is continued in further steps.
b) For number arrangement- The number with the greatest value of the multiplication of its digits is arranged at the leftmost end in each step. For example:-
28 is arranged before 81 because 2x8=16 > 8x1=8.

Input: kept 51 you 62 informed 36 all 91 decisions 72
Step I: 36 kept 51 62 informed all 91 decisions 72 you
Step II: 72 36 51 62 informed all 91 decisions you kept
Step III: 62 72 36 51 informed all 91 you kept decisions
Step IV: 91 62 72 36 51 informed you kept decisions all
 Step V: 51 91 62 72 36 you kept decisions all informed

1. Ans.(e)
Sol.‘all 91 you’ found in Step III.

2. Ans.(a)
Sol. Step IV: 91 62 72 36 51 informed you kept decisions all
‘51’ is the fifth position from left in Step IV.

3. Ans.(a)

4. Ans.(d)

5. Ans.(a)

6. Ans.(e)

7. Ans.(c)

8. Ans.(b)

9. Ans.(d)

10. Ans. (c)
